THE CLUB The Murray Railway Modellers Inc. was born out of a train show in May 2008. The group’s aims are to enjoy the hobby, social activities and to integrate with the community by showing model railways to support charities. Membership is open to anyone that shares our aims. We are currently working on a modular HO layout. Members own their module or modules while the Club owns the corner sections. The modular system is necessary because as yet we do not have a permanent clubroom. We have however, been lucky to get access to a room in the Wodonga railway station. This is only a temporary solution as our tenancy only lasts until the rail by-pass is completed. It is hoped that we will eventually cater for other gauges as we have members interested in N, HO, H0n2½, S, O and G gauges. Our latest major event was the Model Railway and Model Makers Show on 2nd and 3rd May at St Pat’s Hall in Smollett St. Albury. The Murray Railway Modellers meet every Wednesday night at the new club rooms at the Wodonga Showground just off Wilson Street. The start time is 7:30pm. New members are always welcome. |
