| KEVIN DANIEL'S "0" GAUGE ALTOONA The
Altoona is a 7 x 2.5m High Rail O gauge layout set in the latter days
of American steam. The scene is a medium size town, represented by a
low relief down town main street, supplemented with scratch built
industrial and commercial buildings. Some of the industries have
inbuilt sound effects and detailed mini scenes. Both large and medium
sized motive power ply the rails pulling passenger and freight trains. | |
| BILL MUDIE'S HORNBY DUBLO This
Hornby Dublo layout features both the 2 and 3 rail systems. Automatic
train control stops the trains at the station each circuit of the
layout. Viewers are invited to set the trains in motion after the stop.
An operating Travelling Post Office van allows viewers to load the mail
bags ready for the "on the fly" pick up. Viewers also have the
opportunity to operate a shuttle train that runs between two stations. | |
| JOHN HARVEY'S AMERICAN FLYER "S" GAUGE American
Flyer "S" gauge model trains were first manufactured by the A.C.
Gilbert Co. of New Haven, Connecticut in 1946. S gauge trains are 1/64
scale or 3/16" to the foot and run on two rail track which is 7/8"
wide.
American Flyer has been owned by Lionel since 1967. The layout has a
good representation of the engines, rolling stock, and accessories
manufactured during the last 60 years. There are also examples of
models from newer companies such as S-Helper Service and American

| KEN MCPHERSON'S "HO" GHOST GUM CREEK This
layout is a two track mainline throught the bush in North East
Victoria. A creek and small forest are the main scenic items. A wooden
trestle and a farming community feature at the other end of the layout.
"Ghost Gum Creek" is built in two boxes for easy transport and storage. | |
